Chemtura visited Tatarstan

25/10/2005

In middle September a delegation of American chemical corporation Chemtura consisting of general director Robert L. Wood, vice-president James Mason and manager of business development Paul Stott paid a business visit to Kazan. Chemtura Corporation, a leading world producer of polymer additives, specialized chemical products, special rubber and thermoplastic elastomers, was formed as a result of mergence of two largest international companies in sphere of special chemistry – Great Lakes Chemical Corporation and Crompton Corporation. Nowadays Chemtura is the third largest producer of special chemistry wares for plastics manufacture and processing and takes the first place in production of polymer additives. Annual income of the company amounts to 3,7 milliard dollars.
The visit of Chemtura’s management to Russia, the first one after mergence of the companies was completed in early July this year, is a strategic step towards development of business relationships with leading petrochemical enterprises. During the visit in Moscow Chemtura’s delegation had a meeting with management of BPTs Khimicheskie Tekhnologii Company where prospects of extended cooperation of the two companies were discussed. BPTs Khimicheskie Tekhnologii is an exclusive distributor of polymer additives manufactured by Great Lakes Chemical Corporation (now a part of Chemtura Company) in the Russian market. Many years of cooperation connects the company with chemical enterprises of Tatarstan, such as JSC Kazanorgsintez, JSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim, JSC Nizhnekamskshina and other. Meeting of BPTs Khimicheskie Tekhnologii’ representatives with Chemtura’s management contributed to strengthening positions of the newly established corporation in the markets of Tatarstan and Russia due to pooling resources with the Russian company in the sphere of supply of polymer additives.
