Cost-effective tube measuring

Swiss ancillary maker Zumbach Electronics has announced a new, cost-effective wall thickness and eccentricity measurement system for single-layer tubing; Wallstarter.
Wallstarter's non-contact ultrasonic measurement technology means wall thicknesses can be measured and displayed at four, six or eight points simultaneously. The company says this can achieve savings on material by allowing constant quality control throughout the production process.
The Wallstarter package includes the UMAC CI measured value processor and a USYS Wallstarter processor display unit, available as a tabletop or 19-inch (482.6mm) rack mountable model.
If the customer's requirements increase - a need for complex optimisations or automatic control loops, for instance - a simple upgrade to the higher spec Wallmaster system is possible at any time with minor costs.
