German film extruder Nowofol Kunststoffprodukte has increased its production capacity to 15,000 tpa with the launch of its tenth line to turn out monoaxially oriented polypropylene films
Siegsdorf-based Nowofol invested in the internally designed system which can make a range of thicknesses from 50-150 micron films as part of an expansion programme to meet future demand from growing markets in Eastern Europe, Russia, Asia and South America. The extruder will now be able to expand its portfolio with more high quality products across the high and low tensile film segment, it said. Nowofol manufactures a wide range of polyolefin films including PP and HDPE which are employed chiefly for technical applications such as high tear-resistant strapping tapes, tear tapes for the tobacco and packaging industries, carry handles in the beverage industry, etc. Nowofol's product range also includes special compact, foamed, coextruded, filled or cavitated films for cable bundling and insulating, decorative ribbons, laminated film labels, etc.
