battenfeld-cincinnati unveils new, compact and flexible extruder for newcomers to WPC
At this year‘s AMI Wood Plastic Composites Conference, which reasserted its reputation as the number one international platform for the industry for the 7th time in April with 180 visitors from 30 countries, battenfeld-cincinnati presented its brand-new extruder for WPC processing
During its demonstration in the technical lab at the Vienna facility, the fiberexK72 was shown in operation in a complete line, proving its flexibility by an inline material change. The brand-new extruder presented by battenfeld-cincinnati is the ideal model for newcomers to WPC extrusion. The wide range of outputs of the conical counter-rotating machine, from 90 to 275 kg/h, makes it possible to extrude a great variety of different profiles with only one machine – an attribute frequently demanded especially by newcomers. It is currently the most flexible and at the same time most compact extruder for WPC processing on the market, suitable for processing pre-blended compounds as well as agglomerates based on PVC, PE or PP. Maintenance-free components and energy-efficient design were the prime objectives in developing this machine model. The fiberexK72 comes with closed-loop screw core tempering, a fully insulated processing unit, AC drive and an easy-to-operate vacuum unit with a twin filter as standard. During the demonstration in the technical lab, battenfeld-cincinnati showed the fiberexK72 in a complete line producing a hollow decking profile. Two different WPC compounds were processed, one based on PVC, the other on PP. Thanks to the extremely versatile processing unit which is perfectly geared to WPC processing, the processing of both compounds presented no problems whatsoever. The material changeover was carried out without production downtime, thus impressively demonstrating the enormous flexibility of this new extruder.
