Bianor to expand in Poland, Russia and Belarus

21/01/2011

A jump in international business this year has prompted Polish plastics injection moulder Bianor to launch a €4m project to construct a new production plant in Bialystok, Poland.

In addition, the company is reported to be considering undertaking further expansion of its business in Russia and Belarus. It justifies such plans as managers foresee continued growth over the next few years.
Bianor’s new Polish facility, scheduled to go into operation in 2012, is located in the Suwalki Economic Free Zone, south east of Bialystok and will create 100 additional jobs. The plant will also include a product development centre.
The Polish firm produces up to 5.2 million moulded products and components monthly for the consumer and professional markets. Its parts are used in industries ranging from power tools to the white goods, domestic appliance and baby care equipment sectors. It counts among its customers global names including Philips, Bosch-Siemens, Newell Rubbermaid and Makita. Last year, the moulder won a contract to produce child car seat components for Newell Rubbermaid subsidiary Graco and was asked to develop new power tool housings for Makita.
Bialystok-based Bianor, which employs a 320-strong workforce, runs 56 injection presses with a clamping force ranging from 50 to 900 tonnes. Its 15,000 m2 plant handles up to 900 tonnes of raw material polymer granulate a month and uses rotary blow moulding as well and injection processes. Bianor also handles sub assembly and finished component processes and works closely with mould suppliers and full assembly firms.
