Bridgestone offshoot to open Polish EVA film plant
An offshoot of global automotive tyre manufacturer Bridgestone intends to invest more than €33m to set up a plant in Poland to produce high performance EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) film
US-based Bridgestone group, which already runs two tyre factories in Poland, won official Polish consent last month (January) to construct the new facility on a 10 acre site at Zarow in the Walbrzych special economic zone. The new Polish operation is scheduled to take on a workforce of 67. Bridgestone’s worldwide diversified products subsidiary manufactures a range of speciality EVA films for use in photovoltaic panels and as an adhesive layer in laminated glass production. The firm produces its ‘Evasky’ brand sealing film for solar modules and its high performance ‘Evasafe’ brand interlayer film for laminated glass.
