Report points
Organosilicone chemistry has entered into industry and everyday life securely and long ago. One of the intresting ways of organosilicone products application is combining with thermoplastics. For example, silanol-crosslinked polyethylene loses its thermoplastic properties but gains a range of other unique properties including improved resistance to: — heat; — oxygenation; — weather; — low temperatures; — chemical products; — other materials intrusion; — cracking from external forces; — as well as: — long-term strength under higher temperatures; improved resistance to external actions under higher temperatures. Such polyethylene is used for production of cable insulation and sheathing, gas and hot water pipes and heat resistant films. High molecular siloxane application in polyolefins, polyesters, polystyrenes, polyamides allows to improve flow properties especially for filled polymers as well as modify surface of finished products – improve wear and scratching resistance. Such siloxanes can be also used in internal «sliding» pipe layer for fiber-optic cable laying. Application of liquid organo-modified silicones allows to create higly filled (80 percent and more) polymer composites. Such composites are used as cable fillers and fillers for sandwich panels as well as masterbatches. Also such organo-modifyed silicones can improve rigid PVC processing technology significantly and increase fillers content. |
