Molding of thermoplastic thin-walled technical products with twin sheet technology
Manfred Geiss, chairman of the board at GEISS AG (Germany) Alexander Kalashnikov, director at Russian division of C.Illies&Co. Handelsgesellschaft mbH (Germany)
Report points Nowadays many thin-walled technical products with thickness from 0.5 to 2 mm such as undismountable housing for various devices are produced with injection molding. That technology has a range of disadvantages. Firstly, injection molds are significantly more expensive than tooling for mould pressing. Secondly, production changes take much time and require labor-consuming operations. Specially for such tasks specialists from GEISS AG have developed and launched production of twin sheet molding machine allowing to mold such parts during single cycle. The machine is equipped with pay-out roll automat for two rolls allowing to establish fully automated production and reduce cycle time down to 30 seconds. GEISS AG has extensive capabilities for production of thermoplastics vacuum molding machines and more than 40 years of experience in that sector. The report includes information about GEISS AG, produced equipment, types of processed materials as well as company's experience in the field.
