2011 is starting off at a fast clip for Colors For Plastics Inc., as the color compounder and concentrate maker will install two new twin-screw extrusion lines by the end of January.
The new lines will be installed at one of CFP’s two plants in Elk Grove Village, Ill., where the firm is based, They are expected to increase the site’s annual production capacity by 20-25 percent, officials said. “Over the last several years, we’ve focused on markets like industrial containers and housewares where we were having some success,” national sales manager Ron Hulbert said in a Jan. 11 phone interview. “We’ve also done more in medical and packaging.” CFP now operates a total of 22 extrusion lines at its three plants. The 39-year-old firm employs about 100. Hulbert said that the 25 percent sales gain that CFP enjoyed in 2010 can be matched in 2011. “2010 ended really strong, and the first few months of 2011 are looking really good, too,” he said.
