The Moscow international conference "Plastics in Automotive 2008" will be held on August 28 at Baltchug Kempinski Moscow Hotel. In the last decade commissioning of automotive assembling enterprises by the leading global auto concerns resulted in two-times increase of domestic automobile output. Last year Russian produced vehicles took 40% of the internal market. Such serious quality and quantity leap generated a number of problems in domestic automotive industry. Imperfection of domestic production of automobile components is among the most urgent. At that there seems that building of modern automotive industry in Russia implies potent component base which could back the competitive ability of domestic car assembling enterprises. Instrumentation of details and modules based on polymer and composite materials in automotive industry is increasing year on year. Nowadays plastics take the second place following metal as a raw material for auto components production. At the same time serious shortage and limited assortment of all types of domestically produced plastic compounds result in deep gap on the way of assortment expansion for auto components produced in Russia. While the problem of raw materials supply of automotive components manufacturing has been considered before at none of events held by various organizations, CREON decided to organize the forum among the subjects of which there would be: - an overview of basic plastic types used in auto components production; - competition between different types of plastics as raw material for automotive industry; - insufficiency of the Russian market of plastics used in automotive construction; - launching of new plastic producing facilities (possibility to site new plastics producing plants near the largest motor-car assembling enterprises, including layout in Special Economic Zones such as SEZ Alabuga); - possibility of world-level auto components production in Russia.
