Italian linear stretch blow moulding machinery maker Siapi opened its first dedicated sales and service facility in Russia last month
According to the company, the CIS market accounts for around 30% of its global sales value of around €14.5m. It claims to have around 50 machines installed in the region, largely used in production of containers for the water, beer and dairy sectors. The new facility, which is based in Moscow and will be headed up by CIS Regional Manager Branislav Brkich, will offer sales, service, training and container development support to local customers. This is the latest in a string of overseas investments for the San Vendemiano-based company, which saw sales grow by 16% from 2009 to 2010. It opened its first wholly-owned US subsidiary in Atlanta at the beginning of 2010, following the establishment of a Tunisian sales office in 2009. Siapi specialises in equipment for stretch blow moulding of containers up to 20 litres.
